#DearMama-Meet Melissa

Thinking back to my college years, I remember obsessing over whether or not I would or could be a MOM. It was something I always aspired to be. I was drawn magnetically to the feeling of loving someone that was a part of me fiercely and without conditions. The idea of growing a human being from an embryo to a baby to an adult, I must admit had me in utter astonishment and I couldn’t fathom a life without that experience. 

My daughter Taylor who is 9 has helped to mold the woman and mother I am today. She has allowed me to be open and honest, spread love, fight for what I believe in and to never give up hope.  

In fact, I would love to have more children but have struggled with secondary infertility for over 4 years. Though there are certainly moments of defeat, I know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. As my mantra states “I am Joyful in Hope, Patient in Affliction and Faithful in Prayer. I believe that my time will come to be a mama of two, but until then I will continue to love Taylor deeply, protect her, foster her creativity and show her that the world is her oyster.
