#SoulFoodSunday: Conversation Heart Cookies
Happy Sunday! I can't believe we're already in February, it seems like the days are flying by. Valentines Day is next week, and I found the cutest cookies to make to celebrate. Imitating the classic Necco conversation hearts, I took that idea and created some conversation heart cookies of my own. They were so fun and easy to make, I used a pre mix bag of cookie dough, and they still tasted amazing. You can find a video on how-to here.
Keeping with the theme of love, here's our scriptures-
We usually hear this verse as it relates to our romantic relationships, and yes, we should use this as a standard when it comes to our spouses, but it wasn't meant for just those relationships. That co-worker that always has something to say or the person in your comments talking crazy, this means them too. When we read this, it seems almost daunting to love like this, and that's because it is. We need God, who is love, to show us how to love like this because without Him, we'd fail every time. Instead of treating that co-worker how they treated you, extend love and forgiveness. Its not what we want to do but its what we're called to do. Will we get it right every time? No, but this scripture gives us a reminder on how we should strive to act.
Love can be a wonderful thing but its an action word that requires work. We must make a daily decision to walk in love and not hold onto our feelings. If we fail its okay as long as we continue to make an effort. Lets let this verse lead us on how to love others because its full of amazing veracities and we are the recipients of this love from God 💕
